Understanding ED Charges

Billing can be confusing, but generally, the out-of-pocket expense for your care will depend on your insurance coverage (including a co-payment). Along with Stevens Hospital’s emergency bill, you may also receive separate bills from:

• Emergency services physician care (called Edmonds Emergency Physicians, Inc.).
• A radiologist for interpreting x-rays.
• An anesthesiologist’s fee, if surgery was involved.
• Other physicians, such as your primary care physician or a specialist who was called in for a consultation.
• The hospital for care performed after admission.
