Jack KirkmanJack Kirkman served as Managing Director of Acumen, LLC, a philanthropic consulting firm before joining Stevens Hospital. He was the founding President and CEO of the Good Samaritan Foundation while also serving as Senior Vice President for Business Development and Strategic Planning at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. Jack was formerly a Partner and a Senior Officer of the firm Jerold Panas, Linzy & Partners. He has held senior executive positions in commercial and investment banking, the United Methodist Church in finance and development and was a Founding Member and Manager of a major Los Angeles law firm.  Jack received his undergraduate degree in economics and finance from Northern Colorado University. After graduating from the University of Minnesota Law School, he received a commission in the U.S. Navy and served five years on active duty as a surface warfare officer. He is a decorated Vietnam veteran and retired from the Navy Reserve with the rank of Commander.

Kit Massengale

Kit Massengale served for six years as the President of the Massengale Family Foundation before joining Stevens Hospital in 2006. Kit has had numerous positions in health care management including: business office manager and admitting supervisor. She has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Lewis and Clark College, and degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. Kit has been involved in leadership roles in philanthropic organizations and is an active volunteer. She and her husband have three children and live in Mill Creek.

Donna Kyle

Volunteer Services

Donna Kyle has spent most of her career working in the finance industry—working as branch manager, training officer and marketing officer for a number of banks in both Oregon and Washington. She has been an instructor for American Institute of Banking and a volunteer with a number of organizations. Donna came to Stevens Hospital in 2005 and brought a background that also includes owning and managing a restaurant, training as a floral designer and designation as a home staging professional.

Jolene Waggoner

Community Relations and Special Events

Jolene Waggoner has been at Stevens Hospital for more than seven years. She works closely with physicians, staff, the Foundation and the community in public relations and marketing. She puts on many special events for the hospital, as well as participating in many community events on behalf of Stevens. Before working at Stevens Hospital, Jolene worked for a patient financing company for four years and worked for many years in the software industry, primarily doing marketing and client education. Her background is in marketing and she has an undergraduate degree in English from Western Washington University. Jolene lives in Edmonds with her young son.

Kathy Albin, M.A. Counseling
Bereavement Coordinator

Kathy Albin, MA is a licensed mental health counselor specializing in individual and group counseling for grief, traumatic loss, terminal illness, self-esteem, relationship and career issues. She has had a private practice in downtown Edmonds for seven years. In addition to coordinating the bereavement rrogram at Stevens Hospital, Kathy facilitates a breast cancer group for Cancer Lifeline, as well as a group for women who have completed cancer treatment. She has completed the University of Washington’s certificate program in treating psychological trauma, and has had training in the Critical Incident Stress Management and the National Organization for Victim Assistance models of crisis intervention. She uses these skills to assist businesses that have experienced a traumatic incident impacting their employees. She is also a certified Organization Development specialist, and facilitates a variety of workshops in organizations throughout the Puget Sound area.
