Worried about Swine Flu (H1N1)?

Flu

Beginning June 12, Stevens Hospital raised its pandemic alert from phase five to phase six. The hospital was already following the guidelines for a phase six alert so very little has changed. We now have confirmed Swine Flu cases affecting employees, patients and family members at the hospital. Swine Flu is also know as H1N1.

The World Health Organization’s decision to raise the pandemic alert level to phase six is a reflection of the spread of the virus, not the severity of illness caused by the virus.

“A multi-disciplinary team is monitoring the situation closely as it changes rapidly” said Bobbi Ragland, RN, CIC at Stevens Hospital. “We are following our established flu preparedness policy.”
